So sorry to hear about the robbery. Terrible to happen at any time but especially when on vacation.

We feel bad about the stolen items.Hope you trip was not totally ruined. When we go to the beach we leave any thing of value in the safe.At Costa Linda we just bring our charge card for the food and drinks and maybe a good book.My wife brings her kindle which we put in the beach bag.Being with the same folks around us,we look out for each other when we see someone leave there hut.

We'll, I'm going to invest in a vacation vault like Andrea suggested. Do they work by combination or key? Also, they are not big, are they? Because we only do carry on.

They do work by combination of your choice. 3 digit and will fit in a carry on - no problem!

gaby...I have a pacsafe 12l g11, mind rolls up and slips into a plastic tube carrier, big enough to hold I pad, nook (2) full size 35 mm dslr camera, glasses and a hold bunch of other stuff. It did come with a key lock, which I changed to a combination lock, best thing I bought.

We use a vacation vault but just as an FYI, a kindle won't fit in it

I've been following this post for a few days and I have to say, we have been pretty casual with our items on the beach. I know we need to be more careful. Gaby, you aren't the only one who has been putting stuff under a to well or in an unattended bag. I never really think about it since we rarely have more than a camera with us and are usually on Palm beach. I guess what I'm trying to say is that we have shared this sense of security and maybe now I will have to look into other options to be on the safe side. Thanks for sharing your story and for those who have given suggestions.
Not sure when, but we will be back

We'll, Peg, that's really the only thing in the future I would bring to the beach. Thanks for letting me know!

Tried the Vacation Vault and didn't like it. We use a PacSafe for Europe. Just bought a KYSS bag this year for Aruba and love it - has a combination lock/chain that goes around anything with ease and doubles as a beach bag and carry-on for the plane.

Sorry this had to happen to you but at least the items are replaceable. Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

They even took the four one dollar florins in the glove compartment. I just checked, The only thing with the Kyss bag is couldn't someone with a knife or scissor just cut open the bag?
