There is a seperate board

I love hearing all about Aruba. I would like to hear more about others trips, suggestions and opinions about their stay in Aruba. There is another separate board to view your opinions and vent about Natalee Holloway. I mean no disrespect, and feel for the family but it seems to be taking over the board.

I see some stating their is alot of bugs and mosquitoes and to bring spray. I saw none of that in March of 2004. Is Oct and Nov a buggy time of year? Do they clear out?

It depends

>>>> "Do they clear out?"
Have always gone in the May/June timeframe and never a bug problem. But every now and then I do see a Post about bugs. Think it depends more on if there is a lot of rain before you go.

Re: There is a seperate board

We never have any "bugs" in the first two weeks in May....of course if Tourists leave food around the beach..they probably do come out...

Re: There is a seperate board

The bug thing seems to definitely be weather related. When the wind is "normal" for Aruba, there are hardly any, when the wind gets down to 8 or 10 mph, they seem to come out. We were there in mid-October and had 2 1/2 days of sunny, windy weather and then 2 1/2 days of NO wind and it got humid and we got the little black things and no seeums especially on our ankles. I had some little red bumps which looked like sea lice bites. They don't bother everyone, just some people. Won't keep me out of the water. Also, as some of the other postst stated, I had not seen the water so cloudy before. Palm Beach did not have big waves but on Arashi, some of the waves were coming up nearly to the wall. Alot of beaches had quite a drop into the water. The beach can change daily depending on wind, rain, etc. so I'm sure it will excellent again.

Re: There is a seperate board

I agree with you on this case. It's all over and people get bad info and form wrong opinions about the island.

Thanks for your support of the island.
