Most of our visits have been in the winter season. Believe it or not, our flights have not been affected by weather, but we have friends who have had issues with flights. I won't pay for a palapa so the system at the Hol Inn works for us. We never minded standing in line in the afternoon; we take turns, drink some Balashi or Amstel while in line, it's in the shade and everyone talks about their day and what they have planned for dinner, etc. etc.

    Problem solved; do both

I can not comment on the resorts, since after utilizing the tourist areas our first two trips we would never go back. However, the timeframe I think is to each his own. We currently go late winter, end of March, and late Fall, Octoberish, to extend our seasons. When we reach full retirement, we plan on jetting out shortly after New Years, staying until at least the end of April. I'm sure that whatever you decide, it'll be a great time! Enjoy!!!

We decided on February at the Surf Club! I really think we couldn't go wrong - either way we get a week in Aruba! Thanks for all of the comments,it gave us a lot to think about. April definitely would have kept our trips more evenly spaced but we decided not to wait. Both resorts definitely had pros and cons for us but the lazy river is such a huge plus. Love my countdown ticker!!!!

I vote for option 1, it is winter here, nothing like getting away and letting your skin return to normal, not all dry etc. Book the insurance, if you have a problem due to snow, then get your money back and book the 2nd trip.

Good job..! The way you search for deals, you'll probably fit another trip in this year too! Wow... less than 4 weeks!

Hopefully! Fyi - the Radisson is only $209/night for a standard room the first week or so of December.
