I will be on the sandy beaches of ARUBA!!!!!!! Me and my fiance' will be out there from the 9th of June - 14th and this is our first time really vacationing and we are both so excited. He is currently in Kuwait and will arrive on the 7th and then we are departing for the airport the very next night. He hasn't been home since Feb. of this year so we plan to have soooooo much fun in ARUBA making up for the last couple of months. We are going on the Le Dome the first night we are there for the 5 course dinner and then we plan to go to Ducati on Sunday for another romantic dinner and we will be "Wingin" it from there so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I know I want to go to Carlos N Charlies and get on the kookoo bus or whatever it is.

Like your fiance, I am a retired veteran and I am proud of him and what he is doing for this great country. You will have a great time in Aruba, hope he won't get too upset about all the sand (ha). Is he home for good or is he on his mid tour break? Again have a great time and tell him I am very proud to call him a "brother in arms"

My personal favorite places to eat are Ruines del Mar at the Hyatt, Challet Suisse, and Madam Jeanette's (not sure of the spelling), and Cuba's Cooking. Kukoo Kunuko Bus is an absolute blast. Red Sail's Sunset cruise is great. Well, the finger food is nothing great, but the drinks are great. Order a WOW. Things change a little every year and I like to try new things but these are things I do every year. This is going to be my 8th year at ABC/CDM. Can't wait for 4th of July on the BEACH! Luis, get my drinks ready at the pool bar!

As far as restaurants are conerned... definitely make reservations at Madam Janette's, Papiamento, Le Petit Cafe, Driftwood, and/or Azull at the Wyndham (beachfront 4 course meal starting at sunset). I'll be there in 2 weeks. And I am sure everyone is glad your finacee has made it through his time overseas and is okay. you two will love aruba

If you are doing the bar scene (party bus or Carlos N Charlies) stay close to that boyfriend of yours. See information on news about missing girl. She left Carlos and Charlies with man who had been seen at other bars Kookoo bus stops with other male locals who are befriending single girls. They are known in the drug trade. FBI is now there investigating. Don't mean to sound like your mother or scare you but this is a problem now. Very unusual for Aruba...just want you to enjoy that guy of yours and be safe.

Have a blast! You definitley will. My husband and I were there last year for our Honeymoon and we really enjoyed Chez Mathilde. The atmosphere and food were excellent. If you like Italian, La Trattoria El Faro Blanco (the lighthouse) has a great view and food too! Tango has great steak and they have a live Tango dancers during the eveing which is fun to watch. Have a great time!

Hope you will enjoy the island as we locals do. Since he is out in a danger zone all the time he'll surely enjoy this safe and pleasant piece of paradise where the people are friendly and very helpfull. Enjoy all you can, the best places are mentioned by all the others that replied and I would just like to add El Gaucho (for steaks they are great). The party boat Tattoo is also a blast or the sailing trips offered by either the Jolly Pirates, Mi Dushi, Red sail sports etc. There are also sunset trips which are a must do. Night clubs are several and I'll leave it up to you guys to pick your favorite. Have fun!!
