At the Tamarijn, we paid up front the first morning and my brother paid daily.

I would venture to say $2 or $3 per person per day. So, 2 folks in a room for 7 nights would tip somewhere between $28-$42 for the week.

we tip our housekeeper on the first day and then towards the end of our stay.

some of the timeshare resorts have little or no housekeeping. some of those charge extra for housekeeping services. does one tip them as well? i always wondered.

ex: we have friends that pay extra for housekeeping daily services at divi village. they do not tip as they have to pay extra for the service.

when kevin was young and he brought his friend ben with us to aruba and to florida....................the deal was, if the boys did not clean up their messes completely, then the entire housekeeping tip would come from their spending $.
(great incentive)
usually, they just made small contributions to the housekeeping as they were careful not to be pigs.

I used to tip weekly, but got to thinking (I do that sometimes) that the maids probably aren't each working 7 days. Don't know if they pool tips or not. I now tip daily 5-6 dollars so the person actually doing the room gets rewarded at the time of the service and doesn't get 'stiffed' if they are off when the weekly tip is left. cp
