Re: tipping

Barbara-

The hotel is already included 15% service charge. You don't have to give extra tip if you don't want to. Please remember this, all the restaurant included 15% tipping on your invoice. However, if you are paying by credit card, they will add an additional row for additional tip. A lot of tourists forgot that they already paid tips on their bill and will add another 15%.

Have fun in Aruba

Re: tipping

Tip the bellhops, bartenders, a buck a bag, drink. At dinner leave a 5-10% tip based on the level of service. You will get treated like royalty as too many people take the "all inclusive" far too literally!

Re: tipping

Housekeeping 3-5 $$/day
bartenders 1 / drink or 20 up front and then more as you go along.
bell boys 1 / per bag
wait staff 20% of bill or more if great service
taxi usually 5 tip if there is 2 couples 5/tip per couple
hope that helps

Re: tipping

We usually leave a few dollars at breakfast and lunch and $5.00 at dinner. We stay at the Divi and there are no prices on the menus, so we can't do a percent. We usually tip $1.00 for drinks. We also leave a tip in the room at the end of our stay--the same that we would leave in any hotel with good service. I'm sure the staff notices who and who does not leave tips although tipping is certainly optional. We always have terrific service. Maybe we'd have it anyway without tipping, but who knows? Regardless, we believe a good job deserves recognition.

Re: tipping

Barbara i agree with pretty much everthing Sally said except for the 20% to wait staff. In most cases they already take 15% off the top even if the service was bad (Rare but it happens)and not for nothing 35% tip is very high in my opinion 25% is more then enough.Bell boys get 2$ a bag. Have fun!

Re: tipping

15% is taken on every bill... 12%goes right to bartender or waiter /waitress,and 3% goes to bus staff...we always leave a few bucks on top of that to make it 20%...have fun and enjoy

Re: tipping

Danny I dont do 20% on top of the 15% ( if they automatically add it on) I just generally do 20% for restaurants, more if service is great (25%) Everyone needs to check their bill as some add it on, some dont.

Re: tipping

If the tip is built in,good enough unless the service is outstanding.bellhops, house staff and such should be by service rendered.
Don't tip for bad service..........Most of the time I never ran into this, except one waitress at the Hyatt during breakfast and one waiter for lunch. They got the tip added and nothing else.........
