    Tipping for housekeepers

    Sort of a dumb question??
Just wondering about leaving tips for the housekeepers who clean your rooms.
Do you leave a tip every day in case it is a different housekeeper and what is the norm. per day per person?

We typically tip $5 daily but there have been some ladies that have just been soooo sweet and they get $10 but the average would be $5 daily on the bed.

typically we tip $5 or $6 p day.

years ago as a way to "motivate" our son to be less of a slob............if he kept his area in the timeshare as well as the bathroom a mess........the tip was given from his vacation money if he was not a slob, paul and i paid the daily tip it was not often that he had to break open his wallet. he learned quickly.

my son has always appreciated the value of a dollar.........

also too, just like on a cruise, we tip the housekeeper daily.

If we stay in a hotel we tip daily, $5 a day. If we stay in a time share condo like Costa Linda, we tip weekly because we have the same person every day. Sometimes we tip more if we see extra work being done like mopping the floors at CL.

We also tip $5.00 per day and will give extra for making sure we have extra towels, pillows and etc.
But I am weird (yes) I usually have everything tidy before they come in so they can it will be less work for them..
My housekeeper told me "please do not make the bed... it is "My job" to do so.

$5.00 a day for a hotel room. At the Holiday Inn Aruba I get nightly turn-down service. Chocolates on the bed, tiding the bathroom with clean towels, soaps, shampoo, etc. I leave $2-3 nightly. At my timeshare since it's a 1 bedroom with living room and kitchen I leave $50.00 for the week. Even though my timeshare now has T&T service, I still give the same amount as prior to T&T as I have a great housekeeper. Plus I gave her a box of candy and/or a tin of cookies. I hand my tips personally to the maid at hotels and to my timeshare housekeeper.
