Tipping at the Tam?

Even though the Tam is an all inclusive, should you be tipping the bartenders and such? I am not sure how that works out.

Re: Tipping at the Tam?

They have jars there to be tipped. I don't stay all inclusive, but when I am at the bar at the Tam I always tip. The guys there are great!!!

Re: Tipping at the Tam?

yes you should be tipping

bartenders.....a good rule of thumb is $5 per day

buffet wait staff $2 per diner per meal

housekeeping $5 per day

ala carte restaurants $5

Re: Tipping at the Tam?

Your tips are ALREADY included in the price of the resort. you can tip if you feel someone went out of their way to go above and beyond. but otherwise don't do it. I don't care how guilty you feel, don't do it.

Re: Tipping at the Tam?

Where did the rule of thumb come from? Do they have a tipping guide at the resort?

Re: Tipping at the Tam?

While there is no actual rule of thumb, I would think that haveing some discretionary cash for service which you feel was excellent or for anything where you feel a token of appreciation is needed, would be a good idea.

T = to
I = insure
P = prompt service

Rules of thumb are not applicable however 15% for good service seems to be a standard.

Re: Tipping at the Tam?

Good service should be the norm.

Excellent service should be rewarded.

Poor service should be reported to the manager or owner of the establishment.

Their website says tips are included. Part of why they cal it ALL inclusive.

Re: Tipping at the Tam?

Where does it say that on their website? I saw under FAQs "taxes and service charges" but that is not a tip. I was just looking for my own knowlege since they do have the tip jars on the Bar.

Thanks
Kim

Re: Tipping at the Tam?

We too did the all inclusive, but we still took care of the bartenders and waitstaff. They work hard to make sure everything is up to par. Although it states it is included in the price, we took care of those who took care of us. And don't forget the folks that clean your room everyday also....
