I hope that someone posts video and or pics of this magnificent vessel. I had the pleasure of escorting the Eagle from my cutter during Opsail 86 in NY Harbor and Governor's Island while in the USCG.

Will it be docked at the cruise terminal?

This is sooooo.... cool and brings back some great personal memories of my uncle who used to tell me about being on the crew that brought the USCG Eagle back from Germany after the war. Thanks for the link!

My dad was the sole guard of the ship when it was brought to Bremerhaven during the first wave of the occupation forces. He had no idea it would become the Eagle and actually didn't realize it was the same ship until he was on it during the Tall Ships Parade in 1976 in Boston Harbor. The Commandant told him the history of the ship and it was then he realized it was the same one. Your uncle should be in the ship's history log.
