    in today's MORNING NEWS

there is an article about a slot machine at the marriott
    http://themorningnewsaruba.com/2014/...ruba-marriott/

    check out the article
my comment/question is (and it has nothing to do with the slot machine)
i never thought of aruba as being "south america".
    do you?

if visiting or living in aruba, and one is asked…….."what continent are you on?"
    is the answer south america?
    or……no continent….aruba is an island.

Interesting Question. Maybe one of the resident Aruba members can shed a little light on this one. I would have said not part of South America but never really thought about it before.

South America? Really? Morning News, that is a stretch ...

After this horrible brutal winter in North America, does ARUBA really want to be part of a place where it SNOWS?

Makes me chuckle like when people say that the Bahamas and Bermuda are part of the Caribbean.

I would never think of Aruba as being part of South America. It is an island. If it has to be tied to a country, wouldn't that be the Netherlands?

Despite its proximity to South America, geologists consider Aruba to be part of North America. I checked with one of our resident geologists as I work in EPA.

Having said that, the slot company must consider Aruba to be part of thier South American Territory.

Often most of the Caribbean islands are considered part of North America, but Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao and Trinidad and Tobago lie on the continental shelf of South America. On the other hand, the Venezuelan Isla Aves and the Colombian San Andrés and Providencia lie on the North American shelf.
