Topless Bathing

I have seen alot of talk personally I don't see anything wrong with it.I personally don't know if I would do it but don't condem anyone else.We were in Aruba a few years ago with realives. It was our first time and we went to Machebo Beach.Of course my husband is going to look, he is an all american guy-if he didn't look I would think something was wrong. He's not dead yet.As long as he looks and not touches I do not have a problem with that.So I feel everyone should do what he or she feels they want to do.This is America everyone should have their own opinion and do with what they are comfortable doing.

Hey Sharon,

While I don't really agree with the liberal thinking of relative morality, you do in fact have that freedom as in- that is YOUR choice.

What really struck me and causes me to post is your comment "We were in Aruba a fews years ago...my huspand is an all-American guy (how nice)...everyone should do what he/she want to do (the liberal part)...

Here comes the "kicker". "This is America and everyone should have their own opinion (believe me Sharon they DO) and do with what they are comfortable doing" Ahem. If you are topless bathing in ARUBA then clearly it ISN'T AMERICA. It is ARUBA and they have their own laws and customs.

For the record I have no problem with people swimming w or w/o bathing suits. As a parent we will stick with beaches where people wear bathing suits.

Thanks for sharing.

Suds

Re: Topless Bathing

Sharon, stating exclusively to topless bathing, Manchebo is known for tops as optional. At the Divi, Tam, and the high rises, topless is seen at times however its 99% confined to the beach and ocean. Walking around the pools, bar areas and resort surroundings is not generally accepted and right it should not be.
Adults are one thing, children are another.
Common sense and other peoples families should be a major consideration.

PS: An all American guy looks etc. so does an all Italian, Irish and all the rest of the nationalities!
My vote would be to keep private parts..private.
Is bottomless next?

Re: Topless Bathing

I totally agree with Suds and Rubacal. When you visit, you are in Aruba, not America, so please respect it's rules and regulations, and it's people. If you want to go topless, there are plenty of other places to vacation where no one thinks twice about it and is taken as the "norm".

Re: Topless Bathing

For people that have a problem with topless sun bathers that DO have children then if you don't care for that type of scenery then you go to a beach that you know aren't going to be topless sunbathers.Like I said personally I would not do it but if that's what people wants to do and they are at a beach where people do go topless like Machebo Beach to each their own-

I agree with you about people parading around the pool area and bar area. This shouldn't be allowed.I agree it should be kept to the beach area.People should respect this and keep it to the beach area.

>>> "I agree with you about people parading around the pool area and bar area. This shouldn't be allowed."
---- At most resorts do not think this is allowed. At some timeshares topless sunbathing even on the beach is not allowed. Security will ask you to cover. Yes at the beach in front of Manchebo and Bucuti nothing is said if you sunbath topless. And usually Manchebo and Bucuti has few if no children every week.

Re: Topless Bathing

Sharon,

Don't waste your time trying to defend your statement/opinion. Sometimes these boards get out of control. I understand your opinion completly, but there will always be an uproar from the people with kids, who think we should all stop everyday life so not to offend them. Dont I wish they would respect us that much & control those children. By the way, I too am a parent, but I cant defend that an out of control kid is any better than a nude sun bather! If I had my choice I would go with the sun bather, at least I could look away! I agree, I am not up for topless bathing myself, but I would not be offended by someone else who is. Though I must argue with your statement that your husband would be looking! I have found that the ones that are baring it all, the only looks they are getting are the ones looking AWAY!!!!

Re: Topless Bathing

Thank you Bobbi.I am glad someone accepts someones elso opinion and doesn't go balistic cause they don't agree.Like I said before and I am not defending my opinion becasue I still say if you have children and don't want to see topless sunbathers go to a beach where you know there won't be any or even without children if you are offended stay away. You don't see too many people get arrested for topless sunbathing.
If I was younger in my 20's again, I would probably do it too.
