travelocity

I was looking up fights and when we went 2 years ago we used Continential and flew out on a Sunday. When I check Travelocity now they have one going out and you arrive the NEXT DAY.. It's like 17 hours in the air. Am I doing something wrong looking things up?

Re: travelocity

It must be an overnight layover. If you fly 17 hours you can go from Newark to Japan.

Re: travelocity

I too have been experiencing weird timetables with Travelocity (I've been messing for a couple weeks). Strange.

Good luck!

Re: travelocity

Why try to fix it if it is not broken?

Re: travelocity

when I looked for flights out of Detroit the cheaper flights had us sitting in New York for 10-14 hours so it's probably something like that.

Re: travelocity

We never had a problem flying with Continential on Sunday. We arrive in Aruba the same day. We fly out of Newark.

Re: travelocity

The problem with Travelocity and the other websited like them is that they are trying to show you the cheapest price, even if the airfare is ridiculously unreasonable (i.e. a 17 hour trip to Aruba). This is a source of confusion for many people because this pricing technique leads many to believe that Travelocity and the other are always cheaper than a travel agent. The reality is that most travel agents can meet or beat the Travelocity prices. More so, most of the time you can get great prices and great air arrangements. My mom and dad go to Aruba every year. This year, their trip would have cost them an additional $200 if they booked it through the major travel websites. Same flights, same hotel, same everything, except price. Check with an agent and see what they can do to get you the right price with the right airfare.

Re: travelocity

THE REASON TRAVELOCITY GIVES YOU THE "14 HOUR" TIME TABLE IS BECAUSE THAT IS THE ABSOLUTE CHEAPEST WAY TO GET THERE. IF YOU CLICK ON "MODIFY FLIGHT" FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE YOU CAN PICK YOUR AIRLINE AND TIME.
