TROPICANA RESORT bulletin board forum

for reasons unknown to me, the Tropicana message board/bulletin board will be shut down on dec 31 2010 by its owner 'john cole'.

a new bulletin board has been established by a concerned group of people to establish discussion, information etc...

New Forum

The new Tropicana Aruba members forum is growing quickly. I really like it! All owners should stop by and check it out. There have been some differences of opinion expressed and no one was criticized or banned. Thanks for posting the link Andrea.

exactly......
on the other forum there was name calling, poor sportsmanship, much mean spiritedness and unjust banning.
the rules on that other site were only meant for "some"and not for "all".

glad that this new one is up and running, that the "nasty ones" will not be allowed to spew their poison.

Go Trop!

Folks... I registered for the new site troparuba.proboards.com as it will be open for all opinions/discussions, without fear of reprisal.... We need to respect each others thoughts/ideas/opinions and put the past to rest, but, use the past as a learning tool... So folks here is hoping for a bright future for all timeshare owners.
Happy New Year

Folks: Thought I would fill you in on the progress of the new Tropicana Aruba Resort & Casino... I arrived at the Trop Dec 31st and was pleasantly surprised to see the place looking so good...We have some new tables, umbrellas, and chairs around the pools. The Stainless Steel Grills that were stolen have been replaced....A new fire Alarm box and wiring, new linens, towels, beach towels, and the list goes on.... The staff is just great and all seem so very happy. The new GM is upfront, honest, respectful and actually listens....He moved his family here as well as their dog our new mascot GUS....(which I just love) The place is monitored and all the crazy huge groups, overloading of rooms does not exist... I spoke with many owners while there, as well as guests that rent, and most have a very positive outlook, but, of course you will have the one or two that just can't let go of the negativity....The way I look at it is this.....We needed a buyer that wouldn't go belly up...Well we have one...One of the richest men in the world...So am I going to worry about the small stuff ......NO WAY...Am I going to thank my lucky stars that we are making progress every day.....Yes I am... There will be some looking for things to complain about, but for every one of them there are a multitude that feel like there is finally light at the end of the tunnel... So folks this is one happy camper posting her thoughts of our future... I would also like to thank all those that have been so supportive and Andrea for her sincere thoughts and best wishes....

behind the LACABANA resort.

at one point in time it was named Lacabana Suites.
then Lacabana (short story) divorced the Suites and the resort was taken over by a company that named it the ARUBAN.

The Aruban and its management/owner ran into much difficulties and ended up bankrupt and shutting down in dec 09........reopening in feb/March 2010 and finally being auctioned in spring 2010 and bought by Icahn Group /Tropicana properties.

.......and hopefully they all lived happily ever after.
