    Hey Shawn and Amanda,
I have certainly been to islands where the inhabitants hate tourists, but this is NOT the case with Aruba. In fact, the opposite holds true. Arubans love tourists and in the eight years I have been going there (sometimes twice a year) I have never been treated with anything but respect and appreciation. I don't know where you heard that, and I suppose it could happen, but the people of Aruba love their tourists, as amazing as that sounds. Please go and enjoy. You will not be disappointed! (Stay out of St. Kitts and Mexico - they don't like us.)

We never had a problem in Aruba. Like anyplace, just be careful on what you do, leaving stuff around. I've left my camera bag in my room and never had a problem, more then once. If it was a bad place, we would not be going back year after year and sometime twice. November can't come fast enough

we had a camera stolen, in 2000......left the stupid thing on the front seat of the rental car AND left the car unlocked. duh! how stupid were we?

    everyone should be proactive.

i know a woman that had her laptop stolen from her 1st floor patio table, she had gone into her timeshare unit for just a few minutes...again, another duh!

Well hopefully I don't forget these things. Sometimes I'm too trusting of others, but my husband on the other hand is a bit of annoying when it comes to that...he's very good at remember that sort of thing. So hopefully it'll be okay!
