    TV in Aruba

When in Aruba, do you flip on the tv ?

We do briefly/periodically when we are in the room.....
usually the news, CNN or headline news.

Evenings if we are in early, just like home, the tv is usually off and we are reading or on the computers.

Is there a particular USA channel that you like that is not available in Aruba?
My husband likes CNBC and he has never been able to get it in Aruba.

(note i said flip on the tv, not "flip off" the tv)

We have it on, mostly for the news or just background noise. It's on right now as we wait for our new room assignment and we wait to leave for the airport to pick up SIL. You and Paul should stay at Surf Club, I just checked it out on channel 14-2...

it has become a tradition to stay home at the townhouse and watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. That's usually the only night we don't go out in Aruba.

I generally have a few afternoons where I decide to go back to the room in the afternoon and watch General Hospital. Guilty pleasure I know, but for the most part the TV is off.

    Peg - I'm a GH fan too!
We usually have the tv on for background noise anytime we are in the room. We've watch a few movies on whatever channel was available when we've been in the room after a morning excursion and just need some down time.
Our stay last year at the Radisson for 11 days we could not get the TV to turn on and honestly we did not miss it. I mentioned it to the front desk but told them it wasn't a big deal and we really didn't want to change rooms over it. I never followed up with them and then we weren't sure if it was the tv or user error so we just left it alone.
Not sure when, but we will be back

When I'm on vacation, I don't turn on the TV. I'm in a deep vacation mood and want to enjoy every second of it, being aware of my surroundings. Usually, I don't even have time watching TV as I'm spending time with friends or are exploring the island or go for a evening walk on the beach or enjoy the entertainment at Paseo Herencia or just sit on my patio, enjoying the tropical garden, talking to the resident's cat or dog.

We watched the Oscars this year and did our best Spanish accents during the commercials. "Hola! McDonalds! Gracias!" I believe the ABC affiliate comes from South America and, thus, my mastery of the Spanish language. Well... the swearing at Oscar voter choices, anyway.

    We rarely watch TV
however the one time we had the news on in the morning we were alerted to our next door neighbor's death at Virginia Tech.
My kids were screaming Ross is dead. Shocked to say the least.
We usually go right to the iPads to catch up and post and that's what we'll do in 3 weeks😎
