I'm not a big TV watcher, I do love my iPad though ! My hubby on the other hand, loves TV. He's only home about 4 days a month, he's a truck driver and doesn't see much tv, but makes up for it on vacation ! Lol

I try not to spend time in Aruba doing things that i can do at home and that distract me from Aruba itself, like going to see a movie (much to CindyO's chagrin) or watching TV.

I am usually the first one up in the mornings, so I turn boob-tube for news...doesnt matter which channel because you only get NY channels anyway. It is usually background noise while I prepare breakfast.
Sometimes in the evening if we are really wiped out from the day we will turn it on and watch random nonsense....

I sleep with the TV on at home and in Aruba or anywhere I am on vacation to go to sleep. Whatever channel I fall asleep on I turn on the Today Show in the morning. I always keep the TV on. When I get back from the beach/pool the first thing I do is put on the TV. But usually I keep the TV on when I leave the room because I'm a TV junkie.

I am a TV addict, so it's on when I'm in the room. I set the DVR back home so I don't 'have' to watch something if I have other plans while I'm on the island. But, I'm not usually out at night when I'm in Aruba so I do get to watch most of my shows if that station is viewable haha. My week falls within the fall season premier time, so that doesn't help my addiction. I bring DVDs in case the satellites aren't cooperating.

All that being said, I'll be in Aruba when they air the season finale of Big Brother 17 and I'm trying to plan to be in the room watching (and chatting with friends and family back home via FB messenger) when they vote for and reveal the winner. Some things I just want to see live!

    Yah, I know...

Can someone elaborate on the television channels available on the island? My wife and I have stayed at the Surf Club and at Paradise Beach Villa's this year, and both places had NYC TV programming. This was huge for me as I am an NYC news junkie. Did I just luck out, or is NYC programming common on the island?

    Thanks,
    Zack

Not unusual. The places I have stayed on the island all had NYc channels.
