Tying it up in a bow

Well our box is filling up with the items to make our trip more fun. 18 days to go. Got confirmation from hotel, Trees for cell phone, Hans for rental car and Joanne for Black Pearl Sailing Cruise. Filling out ED-card forms online and printing out to help zip thru customs. Know to get some duty free vodka from Newark. 1 litre per per person, no need to get rum its a good price in Aruba. Maybe a quick bite at The West Deck on way to ABC. Then a stop off for some needed supplies at supermarket. Balashi, water, mixers, ect.
It sure is nice to hop off the plane and be able know what to do. Thanks to this forum we get that relaxing feeling as soon as we land in Aruba. We will pack a mini day bag with bathing suits and our vacation vault to hit the beach if room is not ready. Just let the front desk secure the bags- no worries.
We are glad we dont have that stress of trying to find a rental, where to eat and figuring out what we need to do. All thanks to you pros. Hit Matthews for 2 for 1 cocktails on the beach. So relaxing. It pays to be a member of The Official Aruba Forum!
    Thanks Sean and Susan

Lol Aquaman, Our day bag is a carry on. And yes we have the nice cloth bags for shopping. We will leave them as gifts to friends- thanks Pros! We also need them to secure our papala- the old hanging bag trick! We are able to drive to Newark and leave car at an off site lot with a shuttle. Printed out out parking coupons for that too. We also bought 2 United Club Lounge tickets on Ebay for about $15 bucks each. Its nice to get a free meal, some drinks, snacks and papers for the flight. Very relaxing start to the day in a quiet room, looking out the the planes. Our ABC friends love to read the NY papers on the beach too, so we bring them for them. Tip: You can get almost any airline Club Passes for a cheap price if you buy the ones expiring but still meet your criteria.
We most like the restaurant reviews here from the Pros. We have to travel on a budget, so a good cheap meal means alot to us. We read the trip reports for new places and a good bargain. Salt & Pepper, Matthews, Scott's Brats, Red Fish, Bugaloe, Pelican Nest, West Deck to name a few. Legends ( maybe for the superbowl too) is on our list as well as "Mi Dud"- LOL! We found in the past some great roadside BBQ places and breakfast sandwich stands. The food truck by Swiss Chalet has always been good to us. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Be nice to travel to Aruba 1st class one time with the great hotels, restaurants and casinos. But its kinda cool we are able to get Direct flights for $380 pp, $125 studio with kitchenette a night on the beach, $200 car rental and some good cheap food sitting right on the water. You just cant do that on many island vacations.
Well,we feel rich, eating our fresh cooked shrimp from Zeerovers on the beach with a cold Brite watching a great Aruba sunset. Even our "special treat", The Black Pearl snorkel & sunset cruise. $79 bucks with open bar (they loose money on us), romantic padded loungers, great grille cheese, snorkeling and than sailing home watching the sunset quietly! Never could afford this kinda of vacation without the help here, on my teachers salary. Pros, just know that the lurkers here are very grateful for all your trip reports!
    Thanks Sean and susan

Sean and Susan - I feel as though are you already in Aruba with such a great detailed plan upon arrival. I can't wait to read your actual reports I agree this forum is the best and finding out about the on line ED Card is huge as well have been doing that for the past 2 years. You bring up a great point as to getting off the plane and not having to stress about what to do, where to go etc. Just another reason why we all go to Aruba year after year besides the obvious reasons of course. Have fun counting down we are all with you counting

DiviDiviFan, thanks, we will make sure we give a complete trip report. I see you like the Bunker Bar too. We love sitting over the the water at the Bunker Bar and watch the birds dive for fish. Even though we do not stay there, we always buy a couple drink coupons to hit one of the most scenic bars in Aruba. Its a great walk from Manchebo Beach up to the Bunker bar.

Well looks like we are checking in 2 bags now! Our to bring " box " is overflowing into 2 boxes of items we feel we need in Aruba. Most for fun and swimming and snorkeling trips. We have done better with the clothing however. We find less is more. Bathing suits and T-shirts are our dress code. We do bring a bunch of trinkets for friends and whoever, to give as gifts. Makes the trip so much more fun with our give aways.
So happy we keep checking in here on the forum. That Tortuga Beach Bar with the Swings looks like a blast! Another reason to rent a car. You can hit many cool spots around the island. We think $200 bucks for a week is quite good. Thanks Tropic! Love that Trees at Aruba Discount Cell gives us our Aruba ph.# before we arrive. Aruba is a very accommodating island. Anyhow 10 days to go!

2 more days! I only can think of Aruba at work now. Starting to answer phone here saying " Bonus Dia". We just have to remember to bring the duty free booze. So excited. Gonna risk the 24 degree weather Saturday and wear shorts and no jacket to airport. Aruba can't come soon enough.
