    unusual winds ...again

the winds are "brisk" or "fresh" as the aruba meteorologists call them.

    quite gusty!!

reminder, with the winds, sun exposure is difficult to figure.
one does not get toasty hot in the sun...making for overexposure/sunburn.

    please be careful
    apply your sunblock liberally.

the little shower of yesterday and this morning blew in and our real fast making for minimal watering

    Hi Andrea!

I saw this thread and wanted to ask if the winds are still quite high and abnormal for the season? My wife and I will be in Aruba from June 20-27. Would you recommend light jackets or sweaters for the evening?

    Many thanks!

    Victor

When we were there in May the winds were unusually fierce. The evenings were warm and pleasant with no need for a sweater.

welcome to the aruba.com community forum

nope.....but sometimes in a restaurant or casino the airconditioning is quite chilly, so you may need one in there!!

I hope those winds stick around. I find summertime in Aruba to be a few degrees warmer than the winter and a breeze is always welcome!

Today's winds have run up to sustained 31 mph with 40 mph gusts. We are used to June winds, but thought that June 6- 16, overall it was windier and the gusts MUCH stronger.

at least with today's winds, the umbrellas at Lacabana were able to be opened by noon....when those that need the shade the most!

lisa..the winds we felt from may 6-19 were the strongest that we have ever felt. your trip was june 6-16, was that the strongest you have ever felt? how was the dust situation while you were there?

Andrea, did the stronger winds change any of your beach routine from previous trips where the wind wasn't as bad?
Not sure when, but we will be back
