We were just at Arashi every day for 17 days as my hubby said. They do rent chairs but not palapas. We would get there before 9 to get one, well our favorite one but there were usually stray ones. As far as vendors, never ever saw one on Arashi beach. Now I will say there was the guy who sold ice cream come every day at 3 o'clock but that was in the parking lot. But never in the last six years coming to Aruba and going to Arashi have I seen a vendor on the beach.. And I must say, thank you because I love to shop. It would not be a good idea for me to sit there and have them come to me with trinkets or anything, lol, lol, lol. The beach is my "safe zone" from shopping, lol.

Pops at arashi(rental chair guy) is anything but aggressive. It's more like needing dynamite to get him up to rent a chair.PUSH me I'm coming

The beach vendors are everywhere on Palm Beach but I will be honest they really don't bother me. What would really bother me was if I was staying at AM and all the chairs were rented out by cruise folks...

I have been going to Aruba since 1996 and alot has changed over the years but the one thing that has remained the same IMO is the Aruban people are amazing and make Aruba a great place to visit.

    .
When we were there in early July... the beach attendant was vigilant about renting and tagging chairs for non AM guests.... Available palapas could be used with or w/o a chair rental. Dunno what is happening during the high season.

One of the things I loved about Playa Linda was that there were no beach vendors directly in front of us on the beach in that area. They were close enough on all sides, but I'm guessing the older demographic doesn't make it profitable for them to set up as other places on Palm Beach. I think some of the inflatables are overkill. If you only have 2 or 3 boats, why have 17 huge inflatables lying around junking up the beach?

We've used the vendors for tube rides and wakeboarding in the past. I do worry about the safety and regulations. The tow ropes appear to be too short. We witnessed an employee who was definitely in need of some training. He ran over the rope and cut it while back up. We saw it coming and just shook our heads. We have a boat and towables, so we have noticed some unsafe practices from one of the vendors near the Surf Club. If I had children I would watch the driver on a few runs before choosing to let my kids go.
Not sure when, but we will be back

We stay at Amsterdam Manor twice a year and have never had any issues getting chairs or palapas at any time of day. When the hotel is at full capacity, they limit the number of chair rentals and make sure their guests are taken care of first. We were there over NYE last year (high season) and although the beach was busier than in other months we usually go, still never had an issue with getting a palapa or chairs and we usually don't go out to the beach until 10am some days.

We used to stay on Palm Beach back in the mid 90's until we moved over to Eagle Beach around 2004. The few times we do venture over to Palm Beach to walk around, etc. (usually when we go to the Bugaloe), the sight just makes me shake my head. If Eagle Beach ever became like that we would probably start looking for another area to stay or perhaps another island. Hard to say at this point but never say never......

Happened to know Pops for at least 2 years. Always renting chairs from him. He doesn't rent a palapas. And during the busy hours offering to share palapa with him.
Can't wait to rent from him again ( 3 more days to go)

Happy and healthy New Year to all members of the Forum.

I haven't been to Aruba since 2010, Palm Beach was always one of my favorites. There were a few of those water sport thingies. I'm afraid to pictures what it looks like now.

Aruba - an Island in the Caribbean! White pristine beaches, palm trees, turquoise-colored water, tranquility, serenity ~ that is what I imagine when thinking of Aruba.
