Venezuela Holidays

Several times when we have been in Aruba around the end of Sept or beginning of October, there have been a lot of families from Venezuela there. I was told by folks at the Hyatt that there are holidays in Venezuela at that time. Does anyone know the dates and if it is at the same time each year. At certain locations we found things a little too busy.

Thanks

October 12 Día de la Resistencia Indígena (Day of Indigenous Resistance)- to commemorates the Indigenous peoples' resistance to European settlement

Formerly, prior to 2002, known as Día de la Raza ("day of the race" or "day of the [hispanic] people"). It commemorated the arrival of Christopher Columbus and the first meeting between Europeans and native Americans.

I asked a Colombian couple one fall why so many South Americans travel in Sept/Oct and was told it has more to do with their weather than any holiday. Sept and Oct is the rainy season in many South American countries.
