Ventaha card

We used this last trip, and thought it was a local call that could be made from our room for free. We realized after a couple days that we were being charged to call from our room, so we went to the only normal pay phone we could find to make calls - what a pain. Should it be a free local call on this card. We also heard of another card you could get at a place called "Connexions" downtown where you could get 100 minutes for $10. Is this a local calling number ?, and where is this place Connexions?

Is it best to rent a cell phone ? What's the best place and how much is it ? Last trip, unfortunately, we needed to call home quite a bit. We're hoping this time to forget about business for a while, but you never know.

Re: Ventaha card

We buy the Vintaha calling cards at a little snack place across from the bus station downtown. Not sure of the name of it. The cost is 10.00 for 60 minutes. You use the setar phones and put in the pin number. You do not use the blue pay phones as they are for credit cards. Don;t know where you are staying, but there is a setar place behind Bricknell Bay.There is also one downtown. There is also a phone at the tamarijn.

Re: Ventaha card

When we used the Ventaha card at the Marriott last year we found that to avoid the dollar charge, call the operator and asked to connected to the Ventaha Operator. This worked every time and there were no additional charges.

Re: Ventaha card

Lisa,
The VENTAJA card has its' price advantages, however as you mentioned, it is a bit cumbersome to use at times and (if you don't know the ins' and outs) can end up costing you an additional amount.

Connexxions is located in one of the small stores in the Certigied Super mall complaex. They have a call back system. To make the call, you call a specified number and after it answers, you hang up. In about 30 seconds it calls you back and then you dial to the number you want. It has one of those polite robot voices that greets you and gives you your remaining balance. The queston remains, what phone will you use to make the call from?

Renting a cell phone is an option that is becomming more and more poplular. The main benefit is that you get immediate connection to your party and are available when they need you. This is not so with a calling card.

Who is the best ones to rent from? I'd like to think that we (Aruba Fast Phones) are one of the better options. Our rates are extremely competetive and our rates to the USA are 19.5 cents per minute anytime of day and any day of the week.

That said, there are other companies as well and they may very well have benefits or features that may also fit your needs.

Should you so decide, we would be pleased to quote you via our web site. at
