I n oticed that some people are able to use their ATT cell phones. Has anyone been able to use Verizon?

Call Verizon before you leave US or on their website to set up International calling. Then *228 to reprogram phone. Works fine in Aruba at $1.29/minute. I believe it must be a newer style phone, within the last year or so. Make sure to turn off International calling when you return in case you lose your phone. No charge to turn on and off, only $1.29/minute.

verizon

I have a Treo and have no problem using it in Aruba for calls and text messaging. You must call verizon and have them add the international calling to your phone then all you need to do is *228 and it will be programed for international usage. It is best to contact verizon, not all phones work.

Yes it does work. I have international on my phone. Its about $1.99 per minute to call back to the US. I'd suggest just renting a phone when your there.

you have to contact verizon and have them activate intl roaming on your phone. it's free to activate. they only charge you when you use the phone. also, 7/10 times your call will not go through. you have to look at your bill and make sure to be credited for those charges. yes, they will charge you everytime you push the call send button regardless of wether or not you got a connection.

marriott stellaris has an unlimited call plan for their rooms at $9.95/day. we used that the last time around.

I don't have a real cell (I have a pay as you go cell) so I can't help you except it seems like you dialed correct: 001+area code+number. If you cell still doesn't work, I might suggest going to the Call Store at Alhambra Casino. Calls to the U.S. are 25 cents a minute. They are open 3-11 pm.
