I will try to answer this in all fairness and straight down the middle.

when we had our business at the airport, we had an arrangement with the card and this is what I can share.

Almost all the people that had it were those who had had it in the past. In other words, they were motivated to use it yearly. They only had a card instead of walking around with a bunch of coupons that needed to be torn out etc. and some of which we (the retailer) would loose. The participating locations at that time seemed to be really good ones.
I am sure that with anything, there are down sides, however in all honesty I only heard one and that was that the card had been delivered to the wrong hotel and it took an extra day to get it.

It really depends on what you plan on using it for. In the past, when we've used it for a discount for a car rental or for the Morning Star (where the discounts were large), then it was definitely worth it for us. Previously, we had problems with some of the restaurants who would look at the card and have no clue what it was even though they were listed as a merchant with the card. We haven't purchased it in years - too much of a hassle for the minimal return on our dollar. Only way we'd use it again would be if we were booking the Morning Star again (which I hope to do again one of these years.)

We have used the card and have found that it many of its merchants do not honor it.
Some claim they are no longer in the program. The car rental places that are participants will honor the discount but will bring the base pricing higher so that it in essence is no real savings.

That is my experience.

Maybe there are perks in the program that will better suit other's needs.

we have used the card and our thoughts are similar to amy's.
our best and really only savings was when our son took SCUBA and then and advanced SCUBA course.
