the riu is lovely. their pool area is magnificent. the beach is terrific.

i encourage you to look at the ACTIVITIES and SPORTS category and read about different snorkel sites and chatter.

May is a perfect time to visit aruba........less crowds, perfect weather.

    welcome to the forum

Bill, I have a house on the island and spend almost half a year total there. When my duaghter and wife visit i would sometimes get a last minute timeshare at rui for them. This is just an opinion and not sure it was this good because I knew alot of staff but my wife and daughter think some of the restaurants are the best my daughter Italian and wife Japenese and Gourmet. Lately my daughter who is nine has not been going to aruba and who rather stay home with Oma and friends. When I mentioned I picked up a last minute deal at the Rui for the end of Feb, she has been talking non stop about Aruba. But this is just opinion and if you like an active hotel open 24hours for bar and food and a high rise in an active beach area this is for you. If you want something a little low key change your reservation quick

Here is a link to a site that lists the snorkeling spots in Aruba. My favorites is Baby Beach, Catalina Beach, Boca Catalina, Malmok and the best Mango halto.

Do not use the phone at the R.I.U., last time i had some friends that use the phone for last than 1 minute and they charge them $11. Boca Catalina is the best.
