Re: is water calm at divi?

We were there last week and it changed from day to day. There were a couple of days where the ocean had a bit of a rip tide and you had to watch yourself a bit but other days it was calm and clear and you would just float over the waves. I don't think I saw any waves that would really knock you off your feet.

Re: is water calm at divi?

Hey Matt I will be there in May as well. This will be my first trip to Aruba but I have done some research and from what I understand it is one of the best beaches on the island and the water is as calm there as anywhere on the island.

It usually is calm.

At least for one who years ago went to the beaches along the East Coast I would say its very calm.

Re: is water calm at divi?

Hi,
We have stayed at Divi twice both in Dec. Surf was pretty rough on our second trip. I think it depends on the weather and this is not a "normal" occurence. I'm not a strong swimmer and while just wading in to mid-thigh a wave knocked me for a loop andit took a few seconds (seemed like hrs.) to figure out which side was up and took even longer to get rid of all the sand! Just be careful and she should not go in alone if she cannot swim. The pool is fabulous as are the people and the accomodations are perfect (clean and comfortable). Can't wait to return! Have a great time.

Re: is water calm at divi?

Water is relatively calm with only a few very "small waves". Your wife should have no fear of being knocked down while standing in the water.
