Hello all! I will be traveling to Aruba a week from tomorrow and will have my 16 month old son with me - it will be his first trip the beach

Just curious what the temp of the ocean is thise time a year - my mom tells me its pretty cold but i dont know what her idea of "cold" is - my son hates cold water ....

Thanks!

Gina

Imo, it "feels" colder because the air is so warm.

Also may have something to do with where you are from. If you live in the northeast U.S. and the ocean rarely gets above 65 F. in the summer, 79 f. is pretty warm.

Well, I live in the great white north and the last time I went in the water up here was 16-1/2 yrs ago when I was pregnant with my daughter who was born on Aug 4 and needed to take the swelling down in my ankles lol!

As far as the water temperature goes we love it here in early October, the water feels the warmest to us then, just like bath water. We are here now staying for 5 weeks, yes when you get into the water it does feel chilly. But, escaping our freezing cold snowy PA weather makes 78 degree water here in Aruba very comfortable.
