    we "HATE" the crying room

Post your photos of the crying room here if you have any photos

Don't you all hate sitting there just waiting to go back to reality?

Even more, don't you just hate seeing those happy and excited visitors arrive......watching them step out of the tube and make their way past you, behind the glass and then up the elevator.

    Argh
Gee I hate seeing those arriving as I am sitting there waiting to depart.

And when I arrive.... I do all I can to avoid eye contact with any of those poor people. And when I depart I desperately try to make eye contact with anyone arriving hoping they'll take me with them!

We avoid the crying room like a leper colony. We sit at One Happy Bar and spend my leftover Florin. At some point I will walk over to the news stand and buy a calendar to have for next year. I will walk to the gate one time to make sure the flight is still on time and quickly leave. I can't stand looking at everyone all huddled together waiting to leave, all of those sad faces. We wait until boarding starts and walk right on the plane and into our seats in first class. For me the real "crying" doesn't start until the plane is airborne and I get that last glimpse out the window of the tip of the island as we fly north.

I am afraid I also try really hard not to look at the folks waiting to leave and I hate watching those arriving even more when I am sitting there waiting for our plane so I can board and then start to cry........the only comfort is that I now know that I am not the only one.....(not that it helps much.....)

I honestly have to admit I always look down at the crying room, but really, only to see how good everyone's tans are to make sure it was really sunny, really! I too dislike the crying room, I usually spend my time doing last minute shopping, then trying to cram last minute purchases into my already fully carry on. At some point we all have to sit there waiting to depart and it is really, really hard especially when you are returning to very cold temps back home.

The crying room is made much WORSE by the lack of food!!!
last time we were there we saw 2 couples traveling together. Each couple had 1 person in a wheel chair being merrily pushed thru the lines. So 4 persons cut everyone and made it to the front of every line. This little show started at the line to check in. Well we watched with curiosity as we had seen them walking the island several times. So we again see them in the crying room laughing and running around to the news stands, getting ice cream, buying candy, hitting the rest rooms...sorry to say I would have liked to have tripped them as they paraded up and down the aisles of the sitting area.
Am I bad, I think so... Pissed actually. Total fakes! Words, not kind, were exchanged when they told us to move our carryon out of the way so that they could get thru.

While I hate waiting to leave and am usually annoyed by everyone around me, I like watching people arrive. I think about how I felt when I landed and I try to pick out the first timers who really dont know how great this trip is going to be. It still sucks to be there waiting but thats my one way of forcing happy thoughts.
