Points:
  • The forecast almost always calls for clouds and/or rain
  • Aruba has no rain forest. It has a desert.
  • The windsurfing championships are held in May - for a reason.
  • If one really wants to know what the weather is like in Aruba one has only to look here: http://bucuticam.com/

"Another waterspout
The waterspout, photographed from the center of Oranjestad, was spotted near Havana Beach.

ORANJESTAD – A small waterspout was spotted near Havana Beach on Tuesday afternoon around 13:30. The wind coming from a different direction than that on land created this phenomenon. Swerving winds in combination with instable air – big changes in temperature in several wind levels – increase the chance on a waterspout. This is a very unusual phenomenon in December. They are more usual in October.

The rain poured down in and around Oranjestad yesterday around noon. The weather station of the Meteorological Service measured 34 millimeters [1.34 inches] rain in a short period of time. Because the wind was calm, the big storm-cloud remained in place for a long period of time. As usual, the rain was very local again. 38.8 Millimeters rain fell during the past 24 hours and caused flooding on the usual locations."
