Thank You. I have been checking the weather channel regularly. I never remember seeing rain in the forecast when I checked in prior years, just trying to get an idea if it's a lot of rain, or just at night , during the day, etc. I am hoping that it phases off by the oct 3rd. I am sorry to hear about your power outages too

    Tropical Cyclone Formation by Aruba?

Heading down there on the 23rd and see this morning a 20% chance of a tropical cyclone formation has formed on the national hurricane center website heading west toward Aruba.

Is this normal or perhaps something to worry about?

    Thanks.

20% is just that and by the computer models, IF the low pressure system does not weaken it is modeled to pass north of the island.

It is moving about 15 mph at at about 430 miles from Aruba would be there in 28 hours or so.

You can keep an eye on it here http://www.weather.an/forecast/index.asp

So, it looks like Aruba will have some serious cloud cover/storms in the next few days - no?

Just having a hard time reading the map..

As you know, having been to Aruba before, even when it is cloudy, you still need to take precautions to prevent sunburn. Today looks pretty decent weather wise

    Got it - thanks.

I wonder if it's worth moving the trip up north a little, possibly Jamaica or somewhere else that doesn't look like it'll be affected by this weather?

Imo, it wouldn't be worth the time or trouble, but that is just me. At this time of year a tropical something could develop anywhere in the Caribbean. Just because there is nothing there now does not mean there will not be something which develops. Just like the low you are eying up could fizzle out and dry out. Either way, the low is forecast to pass Aruba tomorrow evening about 8 pm. Tropical lows usually don't linger...
