Laura, I am in New Jersey and we have over a foot of snow as well. I came here to get a little sunshine in my life, as I am sick of looking at the snow!!

    This week

We had about 5 nice sunny/light cloudy days.
Last night = New Years Eve it rained. Because of the rain there was a mist and fog so you could not see the islands fireworks. Only hear them.
    This morning is rainy.

Please correct me if I am wrong; but, has it been unusually rainy there in Aruba; or, perhaps, this is the time of year when there is a lot of rain?

    La Niņa http://www.meteo.an/index.asp
Increased rainfall on an island which averages only about 508 mm (20 in.) rain per year is attributed to La Niņa

"Rainfall Outlook for the Last Quarter of 2010

Sea Surface Temperatures (SST) in the tropical Pacific Ocean have decreased in the meantime (August 2010) to below average values (La Niņa conditions) and that has already lead to above average values of rainfall in the ABC Islands. In the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, the sea surface temperatures are already at above average levels and the outlook is for these higher than normal temperatures to persist throughout the remainder of 2010. This is forecast to result in a good chance of significant rainfall for both the ABC and the SSS islands during the second half of 2010, including this rainy season (October-December).

It really seems that this tear has been the rain has been the most that I can remember. This past Sept we were there for two weeks and the rain was unreal. Lucky there were plenty of Balashi on hand.
