    Weather "event" Nov 5 ARUBA

I guess yesterday's "weather event" in Aruba should be classified as a storm.
In any event.......little rain but HUGE monstrous gusts hit Aruba yesterday afternoon........clear out of nowhere and caused some damage to trees, businesses and homes....in
particular awnings and carports were damaged.

My friends on Arashi Beach, said it came from nowhere and "darn near blew them away"

There was little rain associated with it at Arashi.

Any other reports from other sections of Aruba?

DW emailed me last nite and said it was pouring, I hope that this trip isn't a repeat of the one trip a few years back where it rained every day......I'll be there Sat, I'll bring the sunshine ......Also spoke with Johnny from the Radisson, said storm came in from the west, which is very unusual......

    Gorgeous day today!

aruba2099, rainy season runs October to mid January. Rain comes mainly in the form of brief showers, more often than not, overnight. As you can see in the forecast at http://www.meteo.aw/marckforecast.php besides today, there is only a chance of showers overnight. That link is the LOCAL forecast by local meteorologists.

Last night the wind gusts started very quickly. Band after band of cloud passed over with pauses in the wind between each band. It got really dark. Some rain which was not too heavy. By 8:00pm we were sitting on our patio looking at the clear sky and stars. Today is beautiful. Blue sky and low humidity. The rains and wind broke the heat of the last couple of weeks.
