I usually gain! I don't try to follow a diet on vacation but being active with daily walks helps, limiting the drinks etc. Last trip I was super lazy and I think I only went out walking once in the morning from La Cabana to MVC just to say hello to the staff there. I did limit the drinking though on last trip and gained around 5 pounds. Now on a cruise, forget it! It's an easy 7 to 10 pound weight gain. The bread basket, the breakfast danish, desserts, drinks and rich food, forget it!

Yep, I am much more active at home to be honest. I am on my feet 6 hours daily teaching and another 1.5 hours or more coaching....I don't really drink at home and never eat like a pig....it all adds up quickly.

I am just like Hockeymom, I blame my weight gain on the All Inclusive. At home I am lucky if I drink 3x a year and I never eat 3 full meals and deserts. Actually sometimes you sneak in those great pizzas at the pizza bar for a mid afternoon snack, in other words we pig out I used to walk the beach each day last year had my foot issue which I am still dealing with so that did not help. I did cut back on the frozen drinks one year and have mostly balashi with tons of ice in it which helped a lot. One thing that is so strange how ever much I gain in Aruba usually only takes me a week back home to get rid of. Wish my winter weight I have gained would do the same (winter blues) but so far it hasn't (hurry spring time)

After 2 weeks My wife looses about 5lbs. I stay the same weight no matter how much dining, rum, and merlot. This is probably due to my diet 40% fats, 30% protein and the rest in from raw fruits and vegetables, and to lesser extent junk, sugars, wheat, rice

One thing I forgot to mention, I usually try to lose weight before any trip. I usually shoot for a 10 pounds weight loss which I've done for years only to gain it all back. The last few trips I was only able to lose 5 pounds before I left :<(

Actually the redistribution is a problem.... if I once had a 6-pack it would be close to a keg now.....!

Usually I try to maintain my wt. Usually I lose a few pounds since I am always on the go..
    Need to walk everywhere. lol
On a cruise I encourage everyone to use the stairs vs elevator.
