Our last trip we had some rain the morning we were leaving. I stayed under the palapa. My kids went in the ocean. We really just dealt with it and tried not to let it make our last hours together any worse than they already were!

we had one trip many years ago ( maybe 15...) when we used to only go for a week...
Landed on the island on Sunday, it was raining but we didn't think anything about it...BUT, it never stopped for more than a few minutes at a time. In other words, it rained constantly, we would go under the assumption that it was going to stop and we would put our suits on, venture over to Jimmy's bar and end up there all day!!!
At one point it was so cold I had goose pimples ...bad vacation...due to rain...good vacation because all the alcohol killed any kind of bug I may have had living in my body !!!!!
Stopped raining Saturday afternoon, sun came out, it was beautiful...as we were packing to leave next morning !!!!
So....it does happen, but rarely. You have to be prepared but you get very bored very quickly sitting in hotel looking out at rain while you are playing Yatzhee !!!!

Our first trip in 2010 it poured for the first two days we were there. I mean raining so bad, garbage cans were floating down the street. My husband said great place you picked (we were going to Puerto Rico but they had that outbreak of dengue fever). by the 3rd day and until we came home (were there 9 days the first time), we saw the magic of Aruba. And each year since we added on a couple of extra days. We are now up to 24 days, lol.

One rainy afternoon we went to a spa had a couples sea salt scrub, herb wrap and massage, then pedicures with hot wax dip. Mimosas on the house. Rain had long stopped by the time we left...

I spend the 5 or 10 minutes it is raining commenting to whomever I am with, " wow, it's raining in Aruba" & then it stops raining and we go about our business.

Love to watch the people who are already wet from either playing in the ocean or the pool run for cover like they are afraid to get wet. I usually will cross the street and go to the casino for a bit. A few years ago it was pouring big time we had already been at the covered pizza bar at Divi and also were amused at everyone trying to fit under the roof. Hotel staff were wearing trash bags for rain gear to bring supplies back and forth.
