What do you do on your arrival day?

On our past arrival days staying in Palm Beach we have always bar hopped. This year we will be staying at Aruba Beach Club so our arrival day routine will change, unless we take a taxi over to Palm, which we may do.

What does everyone like to do?

Anything we should consider in the Alhamra Casino area?

Things we won't do on arrival day: rent a car, nice sit down dinner, or grocery shop.
7 trips in and still finding things to love. #8 will be great in November!

hahahahaha....We do what you don't...we do rent a car, we do go out to dinner altough it is usually Hung Paradise, and we do visit Lings grocery...all on the first night.

But when we arrive we do head to the grocery for some items, we unpack, we either take a dip in the ocean or pool, have a tall cold beverage, take a short well earned nap, then head out to dinner.

You should consider making a killing at the casino...win enough $$ to buy a house on the water, and book a winter trip to Aruba.

Now this sounds like the perfect plan!

We do the responsible things like unpack and grocery shop the next morning.

Our flight gets in before check in time, so we rent a car, hit up Ling's or Superfoods and maybe have a light lunch somewhere. Then we check in and have a tall beverage and hit the water. Dinner is usually low key, Casa Tua or the like. We like to get those things done on arrival day so our first full day can be spent on the beach or in the pool with no worries of going away from the resort.

We've been very fortunate. JetBlue gets in from Logan around 12:30 and we've almost never had trouble with an early check in..... so it's into the swimsuits off to the beach and beach bar for our welcome toast and then hang on the beach til almost sundown. Generally dinner nearby and get DW tucked in so I can head to the casino. Checking in early is like a bonus beach day.

I love the beach (who doesn't?), anywhere that I can snorkel, The Donkey Sanctuary (much to the dismay of my daughter), the lighthouse.

Our flight always gets in before check-in time at the Surf Club and with one exception, our room has never been ready until AFTER check-in time. We go to Hadicurari and have lunch and enjoy the view! After lunch it's off to the grocery store with a cooler so we can at least get some basic supplies. By that point we can usually get into our room. I always unpack everything and put my luggage away for the week. I HATE living out of a suitcase.

This trip will be a little different as I will not be staying at the SC. I will be staying at the Divi, so it will probably be a new lunch restaurant. Only two weeks to go!!!

This year our routine will change since we're switching over to the Bucuti. I think we'll probably leave the luggage in the room and head to Elements or the Sandbar for lunch. Then we'll explore the Bucuti for a bit, and probably take a walk over to the little market at the Alhambra to pick up munchies. I'll then feel obligated to unpack and put all the clothes away. It will be an early night with munchies on the balcony watching the sunset.

My wife goes and gets her first drink as I check us in to the hotel. Like CP jones we arrive early and typically never have an issue getting into our room. We check in, change and head to the pool/beach typically. For dinner we head to Bugaloes most trips to start the trip correctly.

We never arrive until after check in time. We usually sit at the bar at Costa Linda until close to sunset, and then take our drinks to the beach and watch the sunset. After that we either go to the grocery store or go to Pizza Bob's for a pizza. We have to get up that morning about 3:00am so we don't feel like doing much that first day. If you are looking for a nice bar, Manchebo and Costa Linda have great bars right on the beach. Costa Linda's bar is large and is only a couple of years old, so it is very nice. They both usually have live music at happy hour at both.
