    This is a great thread!

Grab our luggage, walk out and get our car from Hans, Drive to get data for our Mio wireless device, Lunch (location varies year after year) at West deck, shopping at superfood, check in, unpack with the door open, take a walk on the beach, dinner at Smokey Joes which for the past 10 years we have done every night. Before that the location would change. Once the fridge is stocked, and my clothes are totally unpacked I feel at home! 7 more days!!!!

Get our luggage, go to duty free, meet Hans. If Mio is open, go there, go to SuperFoods, go to house, unpack clothes & food. Then off to Casa Tua. After that, hit a casino. We usually don't get in until about 3:00 pm.

No luggage. Arrive around 1 PM, find Dennis or Hans, drive to La Cabana. If room is ready we'll bring the carry-ons in then make a quick drive to SuperFoods (although, going forward, we'll probably go back to Ling's instead) for some breakfast & lunch food, beer and soda. Unpack, crack open a cold one, and head to the bach enjoy the rest of the afternoon and happy hour.

Dinner the first night (and last night) is usually at Bavaria. Head back to Eagle Beach to walk around or hang out in front of Amsterdam Manor because they leave the lounges out. No stores or casino. Quite simple.

First thing we do is see Hans or Dennis and drive to the Divi Village check to see if we can get in our room if we can go unpack if not head to the pool and see our Timeshare friend then get in our room unpack then go shopping at Superfoods. Dinner is at Smoky Joe's go do a little gambling and then to bed. Dick.

I usually arrive around 1:30 pm. After picking up my luggage, I pick up my car from Ricky (Wheels2Go) who is waiting outside the baggage pickup area. After 5 mins of checking-out the vehicle I'm off to go to my timeshare or hotel. I never go to the beach or the pool the first day. If I'm at La Cabana or the Trop where the wi-fi stinks, I get go to a MIO office to get my device set-up. I can't live without internet. Next is a stop at Ling & Sons. Even though Super Foods is closer, Ling's is still my favorite market. I pickup a few 6 packs of Coke and a couple of bottles of Aqua that I refill. I don't cook anymore in the timeshare but when DH is there I do buy cereal for him and cold cuts to make lunch. Otherwise I go out for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

As most of the time I'm a solo traveler, the first night and every other night I go out to dinner at a restaurant where I eat at the bar. I made a lot of local friends that way. After dinner if my friends are on the island, I meet up with them at a Casino. That's my routine every night.

Pegmeister you can easily bar hop from Bucuti! - Costa Linda has a nice bar and I love the bartenders at ABC and then there is always Matthews bar! We usually get in our room, change to beach attire, hit the bar up where ever we are staying and get a drink, appetizer and then hit the beach! We stay in different places so dinner is usually somewhere close by and unpacking gets done when it gets done- within the first 24 hours. Next May we are staying 3 days at Divi,a week at ABC and 3 days at the Hi- can't wait!

We stay at the Tam and usually arrive before the room is ready. We get our bracelets and hit the buffet and maybe a drink or two. Then we drop the suitcases in the room and hit the beach for a walk to the end of Eagle beach. We come back, meet up with anyone we know from prior years and just adjust from February NY winters to Aruba weather.

I am enjoying this thread and reading about the different first day experiences of frequent Aruba visitors. After obtaining our rental vehicle from Tropic, we check in at Costa Linda and drop off the luggage. Next stop is Ling and Sons to purchase food and beverages for our first week. Once groceries are put away we unpack and complete our room inventory. I then pick up our towels from the towel hut and quickly refresh before heading to Pizza Bob's. Once seated there with our drinks in hand I finally feel like we are on vacation! My DH would like to change it up and head to the beach before Pizza Bob's but after leaving our house at 2:30 am I won't make it to Pizza Bob's once on the beach. Beach or Supper will be his choice next year! I am good either way.

Well, after starting this thread and loving reading everyone's experiences looks like we will remain creatures of habit. I was able to add 2 days on to the front of our trip so we will be staying at Holiday Inn for 2 nights in our Palm Beach comfort zone, before we make the change to a timeshare over at Aruba Beach Club. So our first night will be back to Pelican's Nest, maybe a stop by Moomba, and Carlitos. I'm sure we will hit the Holiday Inn casino as well. Dinner will be appetizers at one of our stops.
7 trips in and still finding things to love. Trip #8 coming November 2017!

Some of our favorite places and sounds like our first night... great decision Tracey!
