Some of our favorite places and sounds like our first night... great decision Tracey!
Thanks, Walt. It's been about 4 years since we stayed at Holiday Inn (pre-renovation), looking forward to it especially after your reports. First 2 days should be pretty fun fitting in all of our old favorites before we go to the lowrise to find some new ones!
7 trips in and still finding things to love. #8 will be great in November!

We are members, but have no points or status. It did save me about $15/night on the room price though

When we arrive in aruba next, it'll be on my husband's 65th birthday.
Our son and his family will be joining us during our 2nd week.

So on our arrival day, i think dinner will be special in honor of his 65th!

    Almost the same

Almost exactly the same here except my hubby is at the bar getting a drink and I am the one checking in.

We secure our luggage and go out to the parking lot to find Hans and our rental car. Our flight usually arrives early afternoon so on our way to the Marriott Surf club we stop at the West Deck for an appetizer and drink. The Balashi Grouper Fingers are outstanding. Next, we stop at Super foods to pick up breakfast food and some snacks, we check in, unpack and relax before dinner. Dinner is at El Gaucho's and we always order their signature 16 oz Gaucho steak.

I don't know yet......it's our first trip to Aurba!! We are due to touch down around 1:40 p.m. After a cab ride to the HI, check-in and hope we get a nice room in the Sea Towers over looking the pool and the ocean, then hit the beach (hope there will be palapa's left) and beach bar (yum!!). Then supper at Bugaloe's. Have read many a post on here about starting out there and with some it's tradition.
    8 more days......whup whup!!

your room at the HI may not be ready when you check in.
make certain that you pack your beach wear in your carry on so you can change in the rest room.
you will leave your luggage with the bellstation til your room is ready.

Remember..... pack half of what you think you'll need and you'll still only use half of what you pack.....!
