What is Pargara? New Year celebration Aruba Firecrackers

As we get closer to new years eve.....Aruba will celebrate with their huge display of firecrackers

Where will they be? Almost everywhere.

When we were there 2 years ago it was non-stop almost. It sounded like a war zone with all of the explosions...I can't wait for my son to witness this. I am going to do my best to keep him up till the fireworks go off but not sure he will be up for it.

Yes they are and they go all day, lol. The fireworks by the locals were almost as good as the hotels and lasted longer at night as well.

Pagara - This is how arubans say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new year!
We always have one in front of our house around midnight on December 31.

Traditionally the pagara is to run away with the bad "fuku"(vibes/spirits).

I think that was actually a 50k --- we saved the 100k for midnight!
