What spf should we bring w/ us to Aruba?? I know the sun is going to be extremely hot, and since we are going for our honeymoon, we really dont want to get burned! Should we bring spf 30, or is 15 ok??

I'm half Italian and therefore tan very easily. But, when I go to Aruba even I use a # 30.

Depends on how fair you are. It's also a good idea to get a little fake and bake in to create a base tan. My husband is fair and he gets a base tan before we go and ends up just using 15. He tans for about 2 months ahead.

Id say it depends on ur skin type. Im greek and italian so it takes a lot for me to burn. First day I usually wear an SPF 30, then down to a 15, then down to an 8. My bf who is irish needs liek an spf 60 for a few days, then a 45 and then 30.

So it all depends.

It really depends on your skin tone. I always use a 30 spf to start and then maybe go down to a 15 (always use 30 on my face). I come home with a great tan everytime and don't burn. I did get burned on one trip and have been very careful ever since. I had to stay inside for 2 days...not fun while you're in Aruba!!

THE HIGHEST SPF YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON. REMEMBER HOW CLOSE TO THE EQUATOR YOU ARE. TAKE IT SLOWLY AND TRUST ME YOU WILL GET A NICE TAN. WE HAVE BEEN GOING EVERY YEAR FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS. SINCE MY PARENTS ARE FROM BARBADOS AND HAVING GONE THERE SEVERAL TIMES I'M USED TO THE INTENSE SUN. BUT THE SUN IN ARUBA IS MUCH MORE INTENSE.

30 FOR THE FIRST 3 DAYS THEN MOVE DOWN TO 15
UNLESS UR VERY LIGHT GO 45 AND 30

YOU WILL BURNNNNNNNNN!

APPLY EVERY TIME YOU GO IN WATER EVEN IF IT SAYS WATERPROOF!!

Word to the wise...bring at least SPF 30 sunscreen and apply as often as possible. They do sell sunscreen there but it is a little expensive (for obvious reasons). The sun is really intense in Aruba and you may not realize you are burning due to the breezes that are constantly blowing across the island. Nothing will ruin your vacation like getting burned to a crisp the first day. Even better advice is to get some sort of base tan before going. I got really sunburned my first year and started tanning 3 weeks before going thereafter and it really does prevent bad sunburns.

not less than 40...higher -better,you`ll get your sun tan anyway...so be safe.

I always use 30 for the first few days and then switch to 15.

Good news... the FDA just approved the L'Oreal sun blocker that REALLY helps protect against skin cancer. It'll be out in the US soon.
