Temperature is about 80 -81 degree F. Average water temperature when you are there is 83 F. Doesn't get much warmer than that. Has something to do with the currents heading south down the Atlantic and encountering the South American continent.

The ocean at the Jersey Shore usually does not warm up until late August and that's only if the summer has been really hot. Besides for what you would pay at the Jersey Shore for a week you could probably enjoy yourself in Aruba and have better weather and warmer water!

We go every year in April and Sept. The water feels a little chilly to me in April - it's refreshing but I don't spend a lot of time in it. In Sept., I can be in the water or on a float in the water for HOURS because it's warmer.
