First shopping spree for me when I hit "The Rock" will be to head to the nearest book store and pick up Daniel's and Charles' books to read while relaxing on Palm Beach in front of Playa Linda. Just need to retrieve my miners light out of the storage bin so I can start reading before the sun comes up.

I was also a fan of Stephen King's earlier novels, but at some point, I found his books to be tedious.

I received 11/22/63 for Christmas, and I planned to save it for our Feb trip to Aruba, but I peeked before our trip and couldn't put it down. I really liked it a lot. So much so, that I got his last book Under the Dome for our trip, and while I didn't like it quite as much as 11/23/63, I found it fascinating. I didn't care for the ending though, so that sort of put a damper on it for me. Interestingly, the ending of 11/23/63 was suggested by Stephen King's son, and he went with that ending rather than his own, which he included in the back of the book. His son's was much better.

So, I agree with Andrea. I'd give it a whirl. You could probably read a part of it on Amazon for a taste. Although, the book has so many layers, that might not give you a full picture.

Well, I was planning on reading Gregg Allman's autobiography, but lo and behold, I burned through it. So, I guess it will likely be an old bio of Keith Richards, that or Ronnie Wood's autobiography.
    Seeing a trend here?
Or perhaps I'll just forgo the book and take my guitar and practice on the beach...

You're welcome, bagelme. If you have a Kindle, you can download it, read a little and if you don't like it, return it. I've never returned one that way. I did accidentally download the wrong book once, and it was simple to get a refund. Whatever you choose, enjoy!! Even a bad book is better in Aruba.

LOL, cindy..I was thinking about asking if anyone noticed if there were a lot of 50 readers on the beach. Although, I'm sure, like me, even more are reading it incognito with their e-readers.
