Oh yeah...! So you don't think we're complete slugs on the beach.... we do occasionally rent a catamaran and sail for an hour...! DW did parasail ONCE and that was enough! And DW does indulge in a spa treatment or two!

Under a palapa on Palm beach
Our trip consists of 2 types of days
We are early risers, always up before 7, tends to be earlier most days and starts with a light breakfast that usually consists of more lunch or snack type foods, that doesn't change much from day to day, with the occasional exception for Scott's Brats. If we have a bigger breakfast, we have snacks for lunch and vice versa.

Day type A - these tend to be early in the trip. We relax on Palm Beach under a palapa and start drinking mid-late morning. Lunch is around the beach area, either our hotel, Bugaloe, or Scott's Brats. Early afternoon we shower with intentions of going to dinner. We find a happy hour along Palm Beach, most often Pelican's Nest. We say we are just going to have a few drinks then find dinner, but then we end up drinking and having appetizers for dinner. We have a few more drinks, then we make bad decisions in the casino on our way back to our room. We are typically back in the room before midnight.

Day type B - as the first few days have passed and we have hit true relaxation mode, we calm down a little on the drinking, key words being a little A day or two is spent on some type of excursion, then back for a nap in the room or a dip in the pool in the afternoon. This is followed by early dinners, then looking for live music. This trip we really enjoyed the Hard Rock bands, but in the past we have had good luck at Bugaloe. If we haven't blown our casino budget at this point, most nights do end with a little roulette and maybe 3 card poker or slots.

After our first trip, we decided that our last day will always be a chill on the beach all day type of day. Depending on how much duty free liquor we have left, well that kind of dictates the day but it is always spent on the beach!

Oh I can't wait to go back!!!

Sure a lot of early risers out there. We have changed our routine a bit over the last couple of years. We had to fly American from here for years to get to Aruba on the same day as none of the other airlines had a connection time same day. In those days we would arrive between 7 pm and 10 pm. We would hit the sack after we got checked in after the 12 hour day in airports. Plane changes in Dallas and Miami or Chicago and Miami. The first morning we would get up around 9 and go to Matthews(Sea Gull, Gondola, and one other name I think before it became Matthews) for breakfast. After breakfast we would go to the grocery store and buy bagels, cream cheese, gouda, melons, fruit, lunch stuff and beer. The rest of the morning was at the beach swimming and reading under a palapa. Our routine has now changed as for the last 3 years we can now fly Delta with one plane change in ATL and arrive at 2:00 in the afternoon. Now after we check in we go to the grocery store and buy the same stuff. Then hit the beach for a couple of hours before showers and dinner. One thing has not changed, we still eat our first breakfast at Matthews. It is our tradition. The rest of the time we are there we get up around 9ish(Linda has to get up at 5am week days at home)have bagels, melon, fruit, gouda and coffee on the balcony then hit the beach or pool or both for a few hours. Lunch is usually a ham/turkey sandwich , chips and a beer on the balcony. The afternoons are much the same as the mornings. We do go snorkeling a couple of times a week and we go to Baby Beach a couple of times during our stay. We will also drive around a little a couple of afternoons to areas we havnt been to before but we are about to run out of those. We do any shopping in the evening after dark before dinner. We eat out almost every night. Once in a while I will do a shrimp boil in the room. Love fresh shrimp. We have 4 or 5 favorite casinos and we will spend an hour or two in one of them each evening after dinner. I will play golf 3 times during our trip. Linda does not play so I am on my own but usually find someone to play with. Several times my sis and bil have gone with us and he plays. Last year my GS went with us and he played. Laying by the beach or pool and reading or snoozing is the most relaxing part of the trip.
