We always enjoy the 4th of July fireworks at the Hyatt..... a short show, but exceptionally well done! Thanks cpjones and pegmeister. A number of our local friends have mentioned New Year's Eve as well... apparently the fireworks are spectacular and you can see them from anywhere on the island. We've definitely noticed a difference between November and February - even the traffic seems lighter in November - the dubiously alleged rainy season (ha!)... If that's the "rainy" season, I'll take it any time.
We go for two weeks in Jan/Feb. We have two fixed timeshare weeks. We chose those two weeks as a great warm weather break in the middle of winter. The holidays are over and it's an opportunity to unwind from the pressures of work, winter and the holidays and relax so we are recharged for the last little bit of winter. It works great too.
Prior to moving here, we liked to come the 3rd week of September because the island was pretty quite then. Did not need reservations at restaurants and beach was pretty empty. . . We also like to come for 4 weeks over Christmas into New Years for all the celebrations. . . . More tourists here then and air fares are higher for the holidays. . . .
Tom and Stanley (the Aruba guys)
on the island 4 times year, my favorite last week june until after the 4th.
my reason, the entire family follows...
We go in April right after tax season, my dw needs to get away...lol, next we go in August for my dw birthday, and then in November. I think the only months we haven't been down are Feb, March, Sept, Oct.
We live in Upstate NY, so for now we search for competitive airfare in March, prefer the last two weeks, and in late September, early October. With these times in mind we miss most of the last two weeks of winter and extend our summer a couple of weeks. Our goal is to travel to the island as snow birds, landing there sometime after the first of the year and staying until mid April or so.
My favorite trip so far was during Superbowl week. We watched on the beach at the Hyatt and had a blast. Our reasons and dates are a little different than most.
Our first trip was in March, we arrived the Friday before Carnival Sunday - the big parade - and we had no idea. It just happened that we eloped in December and I had to wait till spring break from my part time college classes to go on our honeymoon. So March it was, during an amazing time to visit for our first trip!
Our 2nd trip was the superbowl week trip over the first weekend in Feb, we did Tuesday to Tuesday and fell in love with midweek travel. This trip was planned as a make up vacation for our first anniversary trip which was a cruise that didn't go so well in December. I found an amazing deal for Aruba so we jumped on it, just over a month after our cruise! Talk about being spoiled that year!
Our 3rd trip was supposed to be in December for our 2nd anniversary, but we had a conflict with closing on our house and had to cancel. After we got settled I went on the hunt for a good deal and we rented our first timeshare on redweek from an owner at the Surf Club for late April/first of May. That was a nice time, not crowded at all.
This year marks our 4th trip and we will be there for my birthday! The budget conscious part of me is dying a little inside for booking based on an event rather than a deal, but I am going to enjoy it!
We've been to Aruba in January, March, June, July, August, September and December.
Favorite time is a tie between early June before the kids are out of school and Christmas and New Years.
Early June the water is warm, the breeze is stiff and the island is quiet.
Christmas and New Years because of the Christmas decorations and the excitement of New Years Eve. Wish the ocean was a tad warmer that time of year, but sure beats sitting home.
We go last two weeks of January , first week of February . Why? We are from Michigan, need I say more... Lol
I'll be there around the same time! I've always HATED winter, so I've always wanted to be somewhere warm when it's cold in NYC. Buying my timeshare was the first item I checked off my bucket list! I'll be there Jan 25-Feb 8 (weeks 4&5). Didn't want week 6 because it's Valentine's Day and I almost always go solo. Didn't want week 7 because it's Teacher's Week and while it's great for them I'm just not feeling it. But I am considering buying week 3 and adding on...We go for two weeks in Jan/Feb. We have two fixed timeshare weeks. We chose those two weeks as a great warm weather break in the middle of winter. The holidays are over and it's an opportunity to unwind from the pressures of work, winter and the holidays and relax so we are recharged for the last little bit of winter. It works great too.
