When does it hit you when you know you are back?

It's been a long 41 weeks since I left my home in paradise. I have 10 weeks to get until I return. It hits me when I hear the wind blowing through the palm trees outside the airport by the taxi stand when I have all my luggage and I am on the way to LaCabana. I need it bad this year. Week 27 can't come fast enough!

When we are unpacked and walk down to the beach to see the first sunset.

I feel it when we walk out of the arrivals hall and the warm air really hits me--I truly feel home again. And then driving to the high rise area, we drive along the low rise area first so we can continue to look at that blue, blue ocean. We turn the corner and can see Playa Linda, feels like it does when we turn down our street here in cold Massachusetts. Home--sometimes I feel a catch in my throat-I feel so lucky to be able to come to this beautiful island time and again.

It hits me the moment I step out of the airport and feel the warm breeze. No matter how sleep deprived and tired I am from the long trip, I feel energized as soon I step on Aruba soil.

I feel the same as hatteras. Even waiting for the luggage and everyone is as excited as we are and everyone talking about where they are staying THEN WE SEE BULLY--such a delightful man and what a way to start our vacation. Bully then take us HOME the Occidental. AWWW I just can't wait to get back!!!!! It won't be long!!

For me it is in small stages":

Engines wind down and there is an eventuality awaiting me. I hear the airplane DING DING that signals seat belts. My ears are popping. The pilot welcomes me back to my own home (I still silently laugh about that.) Tires slam against tarmac. I hear a door opening into my world, Everyone rushes to get out - understandable. Customs. Luggage and then standing outside and taking a full and very deep breath of what is still not polluted. On occasions when I sit in the car- I have tears dedicated to my fine fortune.

>>> "It hits me when I hear the wind blowing through the palm trees"
----- It hits me when the stewardess on the plane ask what type drink I want. At that point my bags are getting loaded on the plane, seat belt is secure, and anytime the plane's door will be closing so we will be on our way to Aruba.
I even drive to the Dulles Airport in VA to get a non-stop to Aruba. That way should not be a problem making connections since non-stop.
