World cup is here and the island is crazy for soccer. Lots of cars have
the flags of their teams on them in case any one is wondering why.

Best place to watch games on the island is at the Cafe at the Ren pier.
They have already painted the paddock orange (the color for dutch sports)
and don't know but they have painted the cow on the top orange last
time it was world cup time.

But Monday is the first game Holland is playing (Hup Holland Hup) and
it starts at 7:30 am. Lots of people will be taking off or watching
the game so be a little more careful driving that day.

My husband went to the general store, wema and Kooiman (sp?) on Friday
and some game or something soccer related was going on. All the sales people were watching the tv and let's just say getting anyone to help him was close to impossible.

Me too! This is just such a big win for Holland! I know the entire island
is wearing orange, flying their flags from their cars and the entire
place has prob. stopped working for the rest of the day! LOL!

We too arrive on Tuesday. I wish I owned an orange shirt, or shorts... or anything. Love to support the Dutch Islands!

I will be arriving on Tuesday as well. My husband and I plan on buying world cup shirts while there. They sell them at Moomba. I'm going to bring my vuvuzela (those annoying horns) as well.

We just arrived home last night and we were on our way to tha airport with Bully when they won - and the island was hopping! No one was working - cars parked along the road heading from the Marriott to the Aruban!

We only wish we were staying last night to party with everyone! Cannot wait to see what happens on Tuesday!

When the game was over yesterday we were walking down by Busters and the Island went nuts. Cars honking - people screaming - flags flying. It was impressive.
