wondering if any one could help with this question, i heard from a couple that just got back from the wyndham a couple of weeks ago and they said you had to get up at 7am to reserve a beach chair...is this the case or was it only because they were there in the 'peak' season, my husband and i will be there in may. i would hate the fact that i have to get up at 7am to get a chair...

I believe what they waited for were the grass umbrella/tables (or whatever they're called) you do have to get up pretty early as there are only so many of them and they are assigned for the day. Usually there are chairs all over.

I was there last week. You have to get up early to get your own hut if you want one. I got beach chairs at 11 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon, etc. and never had a problem.

Unfortunately, with Aruba being so popular there is really no more "offpeak". We always travelled in August and for years never had a problem getting a palapas (hut) last year there were lines from 6AM.

Jodi, This is not the case. You need to get up at 6:00am to get a beach hut. Beach chairs are no problem.

Beach chairs are always available. Huts - we are usually in line around 7 - 7:30.
It is a social thing. there is coffee and people share their newspaper and chat. I always send my husband down to get a hut and then we go for breakfast after putting our towels on our chairs under the hut.

We do the same, our husbands go down while we sleep in and get ready for the beach, we call them our personal cabana boys. It's really up to you, they provide a little bit of shade, but not necessary to enjoy the day. I surely wouldn't stress over it.
