Going in september and little one will be 16 mths, wondering about car seat.Read on here that there are no laws. Can you hire them there or do you think it's ok on the knee. Not too sure...

Order a car seat with the rental car. We always did and the cost is minimal. No knees!

If still using baby type bring it. Great for carrying baby around airport, around the resort, sitting under a hut, going out to dinner, sitting at dinner table, .....

Our girls are 10 and 11 now and we've gone to Aruba with them almost every year of their lives. Many of those years we needed two car seats! I bought tough fabric, large laundry bags for the car seats and brought them from home (as checked luggage) each year. Many (but not all) of the car rental companies can provide them for an extra fee. Some of the drivers in Aruba are a little crazy so you definitely need a car seat.

I definitely would use a car seat and would not put my child in a car if they were not strapped into one. Indeed, driving in an unfamiliar area with some aggressive drivers is not very safe from my perspective. Car seats are available at most car rental agencies for a nominal amount (around $5 per day).
