Question Car baby Seat and Stroller Rental?

HI

I use a rear facing baby seat for my 15 month who is still not over 20 LBS.

I was wondering if there is a place in aruba that we can rent for 1 week the baby seat for the car?

Also the baby stroller? i would really love not to have to bring ours on the plane...

any suggestions?

Whats it like taking a 15 month on vacation?

Sam

Cool Rent a car seat/Bring your own stroller

Car seats can be rented at most car rental agencies in Aruba. However, I would make sure that you reserve your car rental before you go down/make sure the company that you are renting for has car seats to rent to you with your car rental. There are a number of links to car rental agencies in this website that would rent car seats with a rental.

As for the stroller, I would bring your own stroller (perhaps just an umbrella stroller). When you get to the plane to board, they will take your stroller and load it on the plane for you. When you get off the plane, your stroller will be waiting for you at the exit (it is not inconvenient to bring it with you and it does not count against the weight of your luggage that you are allowed to bring on the plane). You certainly want to have a stroller in Aruba as it is safe to walk around Aruba and it is very helpful have a stroller at the beach, at a restaurant etc. (provides shade/your baby can sleep in it etc.) Furthermore, your child would probably be more comfortable in his/her own stroller.

Bring an umbrella stroller

We brought our own car seat with us. We did not purchase a seat for our daughter but we checked the car seat in and it traveled well. This came in handy for us for traveling by car and we used it when dining out sometimes too.

We also brought our small collapsable umbrella stroller with a sun shield. This was the best thing I could of brought. Great for getting thru the airport with and they put it in the front of the plane and gave it to us when we got off. It was great for walking on the walkways, sitting under the umbrellas, napping, playing, etc.

I also recommend bringing water diapers, sunshild hat and baby sunglasses and lots of sunblock and a tshirt that is UV safe. We were very glad to have had these items.

We email our timeshare resort ahead of time and arranged for a high chair and a crib for the two weeks we were there. They provided both at no charge.

We also invited my aunt and we had a built in baby sitter for a couple of nights out on our own. We had a great vacation and it was full of memories and I love looking back at those photos.

My daughter is now 15 and still loves Aruba. Her first trip was at 9 months of age.

Good luck,
Jill
