RE: Carefull
I was a licensed pool manager in a previous life. Pre-internet. LOL call me PoolMan......
Anyway, this is a common problem even in the US. Kid's pools are hard to keep the chlorine levels correct in. This is due to a few things:
1) Kids pee in the pool, this upsets the PH balance significantly.
2) Chlorine evaporates from water when exposed to sunshine.
3) The shallower the water, the faster chlorine evaporates from the water.
4) Most kid pools are on the same filtering system as the big pool so, the water in that kid's pool is the same as the water in the adult pool.
Generally speaking a violet illness like you described is not caused by pool water, unless your child ingested some that was contaminated with something fairly potent. Urine does not produce a prolonged stomach illness like you described. Fesces however does. A more common cause of such symptoms is swallowing alot of chlorinated water, or food poisoning from mayonaise, etc. not properly refridgerated.
