is not only a wonderful place to visit, but it is a wonderful charitable organization.

when you go, please bring fresh raw carrots or fresh quartered apples and peppermint lifesavers.

What cuties!

I "met" several of those cuties online while reading The Morning News and read about their stories, the one with the hurt leg, the new born baby who needed a name. And the possibility to "adopt" one of those sweet donkeys ~ which I did.

I never made it to the Donkey Sanctuary during my pasts trips but I plan on it in the future to meet some of those cuties in person and the wonderful people who care for them.

The Donkey Sanctuary is looking for someone to "adopt" Sassy. She has had rough time of it lately having just lost twins, one at birth and the other a few days later.

The volunteers of the sanctuary are hoping that somebody will adopt this friendly, lovely donkey. Of course the donkey will keep on living at the sanctuary; you only need to pay AWG. 30,-- [16.76 USD] per month for the donkey’s keep. With this amount you help support the sanctuary as well as your own donkey. And you will receive a beautiful certificate and a super T-shirt and your name and photo will be posted on their website.
Adoption info

hahahaha but we all know beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

as a kid i took riding lessons at a place in the next town and had really tried to beautify a donkey.
(remember i was about 8)

i brought brushes and ribbons and barrettes trying to make the barn burro pretty.
my dad would show up at suppertime to pick me up and say to me "andrea, it is a lost cause...it is a homely donkey"

chadd, maybe they "beautified" that donkey so that she'd present well, hence getting her adopted
