    Families with toddlers/infants in Aruba

Well how many of you travel with young'uns ?

We have the pleasure of our grandchildren visiting from York Beach in Maine?

OMGosh..how do you do it if you are going to Aruba with kids?
I am a bit overhwlemed with a 2 year old and a 5 month old in my own house.

HOW do you cope in Aruba with all that is involved (besides alcohol) ?

Do they have fun on the beach and then sleep from 7pm to 7 am?

We had our grandson in Aruba twice. But we made sure his parents were there to take care of him. That way we had the fun and they had the responsibility.

Brianna was 12 the first time she went to Aruba...12 going on 22 so so issues there. I think the boys were 3 & 5 on their first visit, which would make Brianna 14 so she was obviously a huge help in keeping an eye on them. The activity of the day, walking the beach, playing in the water, being in the sun & heat all day - they all help to tire the little monsters out

When I see folks in the pool or beach with infants/toddlers I just can not imagine why.....of course I realize the parents may not have someone to babysit at home so they have to bring them or they are not secure enough leaving them with ..whomever...but, still..so many reasons...blazing unforgiving sun, water water everywhere,
just having to watch them for fear of someone accidentally knocking them over because they are drinking and carrying on...

Another example I witnessed a few years ago...there were a bunch of people in the pool at divi golf, me and my group as well and a few of the guys (not my guys) were horsing around close to the pool chairs and a few choice 4-letter words were uttered,(not in anger, not that that makes a difference). One of the kids parents become very upset about it and confronted these guys, saying they should watch their mouths in front of the kids...the guys response was that they were at the bar and shouldn't have to worry about the kids being there...they bickered for a bit then were separated by others of each party........so, my group talked about it and we kind of thought that even though the parents felt the kids were ok there that maybe the resort should put a boundary where the kids are allowed to go..maybe the bridge ....so close to bar no but by bridge yes.....kind of hard to keep folks on vacation in check when they are drinking at a "bar" and have no kids of their own to worry about ......
any opinions of folks familiar with divi golf ???

We took our son to Aruba for the 1st time at 2 1/2 years old. He loved every minute of the trip, he was hooked on Aruba just like his dad, lol. We went to the Hilton (Radisson) and our days went like this. We got up, went to grab breakfast on the go- Dunkins most mornings, went to the pool from 10-2. We ate lunch by the pool. Our son slept from 2:05-4pm, we went to tour a bit- butterfly farm etc, dinner and the little bugger slept all night long and did not move.

We treated my mother in-law to her first trip out of the country to be "Granny Nanny" for 2 nights so we could go out and enjoy ourselves and she kept our son, we got 2 rooms. It worked out great for everyone involved. Gramma is from NY so she does not get to see him nearly as much as she/we wish, and she got away for her first time...great for all. Our son is now 6 and we have gone back many times and he always finds friends to play with and enjoys himself as do we.

To protect our little guy he wore a head to toe swim suit that was spf 50 I believe- he was covered from head to toe with SPF as well, hat...all the fun stuff, lol. It was a lot of prep work but with the 3 adults it was pretty easy. That said, I could never have done it was he was an infant, never ever ever, lol. Doing it without assistance at the toddler age would be difficult as well, or doing it with more than 1 child....
